Youth Employment Agency (YEA) Chief Executive Officer, Kofi Baah Agyepong, has officially stepped down from his role, effective January 24, 2025, to focus on personal commitments and aspirations.
In a resignation letter addressed to President John Dramani Mahama, Mr. Agyepong described his tenure as “an honour and a privilege”, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to lead the agency over the past two years.
“I am formally tendering my resignation as the Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), effective 24th January 2025,” the letter stated.
“This decision allows me to focus on personal commitments and aspirations.”
He extended his best wishes to the President, saying, “I wish you continued wisdom and strength in your service to the nation,” while expressing confidence in the agency’s ability to achieve greater successes in the future.
Under his leadership, YEA implemented several initiatives to tackle youth unemployment, focusing on vocational training and entrepreneurship.
These efforts contributed significantly to creating opportunities for Ghanaian youth across the country.
In his resignation, Agyepong assured a seamless transition, stating he would remain available to assist with any urgent matters requiring his attention.
His departure comes as the Youth Employment Agency continues its critical mission of addressing youth unemployment in Ghana.
The government has yet to announce his successor, leaving a leadership gap at a pivotal time for the agency.
