The 46-year-old former Ifeanyi Ubah trainer replaces Annor Walker who has been missing in the last two games for the ‘Dade boys’ due to an undisclosed health condition.
The absence of Walker has caused back to back defeats to Aduana Stars and Ashantigold SC.
Olympics had an impressive form until their fortunes started dwindling after the Walker was struck ill.
The club is yet to release a statement on Annor Walker’s current situation.
Yaw Preko was a forward for Hearts of Oak, Anderlecht and Fenerbahçe and has vast experience in coaching, having managed Ghana’s U-20 team, and serving as an assistant coach under Japanese coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi at Hearts of Oak.
Olympics face Inter Allies in their next Ghana Premier League game on Friday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
