Wyclef shows interest in signing talented Accra Academy rapper
US-based Haitian rapper, Wyclef Jean, has mounted a search for an Accra Academy student who has gone viral for his rap skills.
The short video, which has gained more than 500, 000 likes, shares and comments on social media captures the student, F asquare, rapping in the Twi language to the instrumentals of Fat Joe and Lil Wayne’s ‘Make it rain’ track released in 2006.
F asquare, was seen in the video, displaying his rap talent which appeared similar to the rap style of Ghanaian BET Award winner, Sarkodie. The multiple award winner couldn’t help sharing the video on Instagram with a comment applauding the youngster.
About a dozen school mates of F asquare were in the background of the video as they cheered him on.
In the song, F asquare was hailing the superiority of females from Accra Girls Senior High School as compared to the students of St. Mary’s Secondary School, an all-female second-cycle school affiliated to the all-boys Accra Academy.
This has attracted the attention of renowned musicians including Wyclef who posted a tweet which read: “Carnival world music Group is looking for this kid he got talent !!!!!”
