Horrific accident at Anaji leaves 14 injured; 3 children escape unhurt

A horrific accident occurred at a traffic intersection near Anaji Choice Mart along the Kansaworodu-Apollo junction dual road, resulting in injuries to fourteen individuals.

The collision happened around 8:00 PM on Friday, April 25, 2025, involving a commercial Toyota Regius with registration number GW 4279 20 and a private Audi A4 saloon vehicle with registration number GW 4575 11.

Despite the seriousness of the accident, three babies miraculously escaped unhurt.

Emergency responders quickly transported the victims in three ambulances to Kwesimintsim Government Hospital for urgent medical attention.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the Audi attempted to turn toward Anaji Choice Mart and crashed into the Toyota Regius at the intersection.

All fourteen passengers of the Toyota Regius, including the driver, sustained injuries, with shattered glass from all windows except the driver’s door due to the impact.

At the time of the accident, the traffic signal was inoperable due to a power outage. Witnesses pointed out that this malfunction contributed to the incident, noting that “both drivers had nothing to guide them on the road”.

The damaged Audi has been towed away, while the commercial bus was moved a short distance from the intersection.

Authorities were present at the scene to investigate the situation, and ongoing assessments are underway.
