WPL 2022/2023: Winners For Player, Coach Of The Month For October Announced
Dreamz Ladies captain, Stella Nyamekye has been named the NASCO Player for the Month of October in the ongoing 2022/23 Ghana Women’s League season.
The Ghana FA announced winners of both the player and coach categories via their official social media platforms.
Stella excelled during the month under review providing top performance in all four matches played and also scored 4 goals in the process.
She was also a recipient of two MVP titles in those matches.
Stella was nominated alongside his teammate Supreme Ladies’ Linda Owusu Ansah, Hasaacas Ladies’ Doreen Copson and Thunder Queens’ Gloria Fosua.
Coach of the Month
The head coach of Hasaacas Ladies, Yusif Basigi won the Coach of the Month award for October in the ongoing season.
Basigi led Hasaacas Ladies to win four matches in the month of October making his team the only Women’s Premier League side to keep clean sheets in the month under review.
Hasaacas currently sit at the top of the Southern Zone League table with 16 points.
He won ahead of the other three nominees, Reginald Asante of Faith Ladies, Aboagye Dacosta of Ashtown Ladies and Tamimu Adam of Pearlpia Ladies for the coveted award.
Both winners are expected to receive a NASCO television each from Electroland Ghana Limited, atrophy each and cash prizes from title sponsors Malta Guinness.
The Ghana Women’s Premier League will resume in January after the 2022 FIFA World World Cup.
The match week 8 fixtures of the Women’s top-flight competition are set to take place in each zone from January 27–31, 2023.
The final round of games will be played on matchday 18 which is scheduled for April 28- May 1, 2023.
The champion will be declared after the final which will be played between May 19- 22, 2023.
