World Cup 2022: Otto Addo reunites with family after group-stage exit
Coach Otto Addo has reunited with his wife and kids in Germany after Ghana’s early exit from the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The 47-year-old failed to lead the Black Stars past the group stage after losing their final group game to Uruguay on Friday.
After the game, coach Addo confirmed he would be leaving his role as Ghana coach at end of his contract.
Ghana finished bottom of Group H with three points after losing to Portugal and Uruguay, having beaten South Korea in between.
He replaced Milovan Rajevac in February, initially as interim boss, and was given a deal until the end of December.
Coach Otto Addo’s departure means Ghana act move quickly to get a new coach in place before they continue their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign in March.
He won four games during his time with the Black Stars, beating Madagascar and South Korea in competitive games with the other victories coming against Nicaragua and Switzerland in friendlies.
He masterminded Ghana’s qualification to the World Cup by beating Nigeria in March.
