Woman found dead in container shop at Kasoa

A woman believed to be in her late 20s has been found dead at Kasoa America Town in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.

The woman whose identity is currently unknown was found a half-naked body in a sack in an unused container shop.

Residents believe that she was killed elsewhere and dumped in the area as she is not known in the neighborhood.

The Assemblyman of the area, Hon. Shadrack Boakye Yiadom, who confirmed the incident said residents for the past few days had been raising alarms about an unpleasant scent emanating from the direction of the container.

Their curiosity pushed them to open the container to find out what might be giving off such a foul smell only for them to find the almost decomposing body of the woman in a sack.

They reported the incident to the police who arrived at the crime scene and conveyed the body to the morgue.

Meanwhile, police have commenced investigations into the matter.

Previous incidents

On November 9, 2021, a middle-aged man was found dead at Walantu, a suburb of Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.

The unidentified man was found in a pool of blood with machete wounds.

It is believed that the man may have been beaten to death by his attackers and later dumped in the walantu community.

In October 2022, a man, 40, identified by a search team as Kwesi Alhaji, was found dead in front of an uncompleted building at Kasoa Opeikuma High-tension in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.

He was in a shirt and boxer shorts.

He was found by a young man who went hunting for game in the bush.

A resident, Mr Okyere Boateng, told the media that a young man informed him about a pungent smell in the area while hunting for bush meat.

Mr. Okyere said he organized some people and moved to the scene only to discover the almost decomposed body lying near the uncompleted building in the bush.

He said he then informed his landlord, who reported the matter to the police.
