A 57- year- old farmer, Charles Oko is battling for his life at Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital after a colleague farmer inflicted cutlass wounds on him on a farm at Awutu Bereku in the Central Region.
The incident is said to have occurred on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.
According to reports, the suspect, Mame Yaa Yaa accused the victim of destroying her Cassava plantation with weeds that he gathered after weeding his farm.
The victim reportedly admitted the allegations against him by the suspect and rendered an apology.
However, the suspect refused to accept the apology resulting in a heated argument.
In the process, the suspect picked a sharpened cutlass and inflicted wounds on Charles Oko, the victim.
She reportedly bolted from the scene after seeing the man unconscious.
Some hunters found the victim lying in a pool of blood and rushed him to the Awutu Bereku Hospital.
However, due to his critical condition, he was later transferred to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital for treatment.
The case has been reported at Awutu Bereku District Police Command.
Police are currently on a manhunt for the suspect who is on the run.
