A young woman is in the grips of the police for dumping her baby at an Astro Turf Park at Atasemanso in Kumasi.
According to reports, the woman, identified as Hilda, left her baby girl at the place at around 3 am on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.
The baby started crying loudly after her mother left, drawing the attention of some residents to the place.
Residents who thronged the park sent the baby, who was wrapped with a cloth to the Atasemanso Police Station.
While the police were actively investigating the case, a resident informed them that he allegedly saw one Hilda in the area, who is a nursing mother, dumping the baby at the park.
She has since been arrested and is assisting the police with the investigations.
Meanwhile, the baby was sent to the hospital for an assessment.
