Winning Ghana Premier League title with Samartex big achievement for me – Nurudeen Amadu
FC Samartex coach Nurudeen Amadu says it is a great achievement for him to win the Ghana Premier League title with the club.
The Samreboi-based wrapped up the title with two games to spare on Sunday afternoon after beating Bibiani Gold Stars 1-0.
Amadu, who took over in July 2023 from former coach Annor Walker, led the team to an impressive victory in only their second season in the top flight.
Reflecting on his journey, Coach Amadu expressed his joy and recounted the skepticism he faced upon his appointment.
“Not many people at Samartex, including the fans, knew who I was,” he told Akoma FM in Kumasi.
“Winning the league is a huge accomplishment because the goal was to finish higher than last season, not to win the league. For me, it’s a dream come true.”
Under Amadu’s leadership, FC Samartex has delivered an outstanding performance this season.
The team won 18 matches, lost 10, and drew 4 out of the 32 games played so far, showcasing their dominance in the league.
This historic league title marks a significant milestone for FC Samartex, highlighting their ascension in Ghanaian football. The achievement is not only a personal triumph for Amadu but also a testament to the team’s hard work and dedication.
