Why should Ghanaians give you the ‘nod’ in 2020 – Sammi Awuku to John Mahama
The National Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammi Awuku has pondered over the former President, John Dramani Mahama decision to contest for the 2020 presidential race after going through the various stages of governance in the country.
He is asking the former President to explain to Ghanaians the mistakes he made for which reason he wants to come back next year to correct them.
Sammi Awuku argues that the former President has been an assemblyman, member of parliament, deputy minister, minister, vice President and moving on to attain the highest office of the land.
According to him, the former President has seen it all and had the opportune time to make the needed impact but failed to live up to the expectations of Ghanaians in his tenure.
Speaking at the TESCO swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected Tescon Executives of the All Nations University at Koforidua, Sammi Awuku said the former President has stifled Ghana’s progress and must not be entertained again.
He noted “The 2020 election is going to be an election between the kingdom of God and the Kingdom of darkness because everything within us will be tested. When the former President says he is coming back to correct his mistakes, it is important we get to understand the mistakes he is coming to correct before giving him the nod. ”
He further argued that a leader is someone who is able to fix problems but Mr Mahama from his previous experience in all phases of governance does not have such qualities.
Mr Awuku advised the Ghanaian populace not to allow the former President near the Presidency again.
He urged the youth, especially TESCON, to work hard for the NPP to retain office and continue to make Ghana better.
