Supreme court nominee Gertrude Torkonoo has explained why Judges do not smile when executing their mandate.
The High court judge said members of the judiciary cannot smile in court because they are likely to be accused wrongly.
Answering a question from North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa who is also member of the Appointment’s Committee of Parliament, the nominee while explaining the causes of corruption ventured into why judges keep straight faces.
“You can’t smile at anyone. I can assure you that in court if you smile too much there will be petitions against you” she said.
