We’ve not withdrawn petition against judge in Cecilia Dapaah’s case – OSP

Source The Ghana Report

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has denied reports suggesting that it has withdrawn the petition against the judge in the former sanitation minister, Cecilia Dapaah’s case.

A statement from the OSP said the petition seeking the removal of Justice Edward Twum from all cases involving the OSP is still in force.

The statement comes on the back of media reports suggesting that the OSP withdrew its petition, which was seemingly confirmed by the trial judge during a court hearing on Wednesday, October 18.

However, the judge later clarified that the withdrawal was not the case, as the OSP still seeks his removal.

It will be recalled that the OSP had accused Justice Twum of bias against the OSP and the Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng.

Consequently, the office requested Gertrude Torkornoo to either have the judge recuse himself or remove him from all cases pending before him.

Below is a statement from the OSP.
