West Ham’s Michail Antonio arrives in Ghana to support Samba Stars Academy
In a heartwarming visit, Michail Antonio, the prolific West Ham United forward, touched down in Ghana on Sunday night, November 10, 20234, to lend his support to “Samba Stars Academy,” a football initiative aimed at uplifting underprivileged youth in the country.
Antonio, who made the journey to support his close friend and associate, Michael Appiason, was welcomed with excitement by the Ghanaian HAMMERS – the official supporters club of West Ham in Ghana.
Fresh off a recent Premier League match against Everton, Antonio arrived in Ghana for his first-ever visit, making it a landmark occasion for both him and the West Ham fanbase in the country.
The warm reception from local fans was a testament to the growing influence of English football in Ghana and the admiration for Antonio, who now shares a club with Ghana’s own Mohammed Kudus at West Ham United.

It is very nice obviously and it is a nice gesture, it is a great greeting and his nice to meet everybody here in Ghana.
We know that, West Ham is a big team and i am here to support my brother, and give the boys all the support they need here in Ghana.
What inspired me is the talent pool here in Ghana and is just an inspiration for me to be here and help the underprivileged here in Ghana.
