The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) have released their rankings on the best clubs on the African continent with no Ghanaian clubs featuring among the top 20 ranked teams.
The rankings that was based on performances in the period between October 1, 2024 and September 30, 2025 had IFFHS rank Pyramids FC as the best club in Africa.
The Egyptian club, ranked 57th in the world, leads the rankings that is dominated by North African nations with four teams named in the top five slots.
Pyramids FC, Al Ahly also of Egypt, RS Berkane of Morocco, Esperance de Tunis of Tunisia and Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa made the top five.
No team from the West African sub region made it to the Top 20 same as Central Africa with Ghanaian giants Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak missing out on the top list.

Kotoko are looking to make amends for its underwhelming performances in the CAF interclub competitions as the Porcupine Warriors aim for a deep run in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Kotoko take on Morocco’s Wydad Athletic on Sunday, October 19 at 15:00 GMT at the Accra Sports Stadium in the first of two legs. Scroll down to view the top 20 ranked clubs in Africa by IFFHS.
