Wendy Shay is no match for me, she’s not my class – Kelvyn Boy
Afro-Pop and Dancehall artist Kelvyn Boy has said Afropop artist Wendy Shay and her craft are below his standards.
According to him, Wendy Shay even though they do the same genre of music is nowhere near his pedestal.
“I haven’t been in the music industry for long but Wendy Shay is no match for me” he said.
He said, the kind of lyrics in the songs he does are timeless compared to what Wendy Shay does and so there was no point for him to compete with her for attention whatsoever.
“With the kind of songs, she does I can easily write them for Bullet to be given to her, better ones not what she’s been singing” he noted.
Recently, Kelvyn Boy was seen in a video snubbing Wendy Shay after he shook hands with Bullet, her manager and Shatta Wale.
Reacting to the video, Bullet said, Kelvyn Boy refused to shake hands with his artist because he still hasn’t recovered from the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards shock where Wendy won the “New Artist of the Year” over him.
In an interview monitored by The Ghana Report, Kelvyn Boy said, his actions were not deliberate as he was under pressure to get himself together for a group photograph.
“I didn’t even know what had happened until I saw the video trending and even after the incident, I have tried to reach out to them, I called Bullet severally but he did not pick up non returned any of my calls” he noted.
Wondering why, Bullet would connect the snub to his recent lost at the VGMA, Kelyvn questioned why Wendy Shay won the New Artist of the Year
“ If he connected the incident to the VGMA then that makes me question their win at the event, it shows that they knew they didn’t deserve it” he said.
