We’ll give the party one-touch victory in 2024 – Alabi tells NDC supporters
Former Vice Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) Professor Joshua Alabi has assured members and followers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of a first-round victory in the 2024 elections.
Addressing some NDC supporters on Tuesday, March 21 after filing the nomination forms on behalf of former President John Dramani Mahama at the party’s headquarters, Prof Alabi noted that Mr. Mahama and his team will work with all the organs of the NDC if he wins the internal polls to become the flagbearer.
This, he said, will bring victory to the NDC.
“We assure you that NDC will win hands down, we are not only going to win hands down but by 1:00 am we will be sure of our results.
“We are going to work with all the organs to make sure that the next election we give the party one-touch victory,” he said.
Former President Mahama is facing internal opposition from three others – a former finance minister and governor of the central bank, Kwabena Duffuor, a former mayor of Kumasi Kojo Bonsu, and a businessman Ernest Kwaku Kobeah.
In a related development, another flagbearer hopeful, Ernest Kwaku Kobeah has filed his presidential nomination forms at the party’s headquarters.
Speaking to the media after the filing of Nomination forms, the spokesperson for the businessman, Aliu Zomira noted that Mr. Kobeah is a well-trusted candidate who can lead the party to power in the 2024 general election.
Meanwhile, Mr. Kojo Bonsu will on Wednesday, March 22, file his nomination form at the party’s head office to contest the primaries scheduled for May 13.
Dr. Kwabena Duffuor will do the same on Thursday, March 23
