Weekly Performance Of Ghanaian Players Abroad

Below is a weekly report on the performance of Ghanaian players abroad in their respective leagues across the globe in the ongoing 2021/22 football season.

 

ENGLAND

In Premier League, Mohammed Salisu lasted the entire duration of the game in Southampton’s 0-1 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Thomas Partey played full throttle for Arsenal in their emphatic 3-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby.

Daniel Amartey was an unused substitute in Leicester City’s 2-2 drawn game with Burnley at the King Power Stadium.

In Championship, Baba Rahman and Andy Yiadom were in action for Reading in their 1-0 win over Middlesbrough.

Albert Adomah did not feature for QPR in their 2-1 defeat against West Brom.

In League Two, Brenden Wiredu saw 88 minutes of action for Colchester United in their goalless draw against Colchester United.

 

SPAIN

In La Liga, Iddrisu Baba enjoyed full-time action for Real Mallorca as they lost 2-3 to Osasuna.

In La Liga II, Samuel Obeng Gyabaa saw red in the 88th minute as his team Real Oviedo were held to a goalless draw game by Girona at home.

 

FRANCE

In Ligue I, Alexander Djiku played 58 minutes for Strasbourg in their 1-2 home defeat to Lille, his compatriot Majeed Waris was also introduced into the game in the 82nd minutes by the home side.

Kamal Deen Sulemana played 75 minutes for Rennes in their 1-1 draw against Bordeaux, Gideon Mensah was an unused substitute for the home team.

Osman Bukari was introduced into the game on the 77th minute in his side FC Nantes 3-1 away defeat to Stade Reims

Salis Abdul Samed saw 65 minutes of action for Clermont in their 1-3 home defeat to Monaco,  his countryman Alidu Seidu was on the bench for Clermont.

In Ligue II, Emmanuel Lomotey starred for Amien SC in their 1-1 stalemate with AS Nancy.

Ebenezer Assifiuah enjoyed 54 minutes of action for Pau FC in their 1-2 home defeat to Dunkerque.

Emmanuel Ntim played 90 minutes for Valenciennes in their 1-0 win over Dijon

 

 

ITALY

In Serie A, Emmanuel Gyasi played 79 minutes of action for Spezia in their 1-2 defeat to AC Milan

Caleb Ekuban was introduced into the game for Genoa in their 3-3 draw against Verona at the Estadio Luigi Ferraris.

Alfred Duncan played 65 minutes for ACF Fiorentina in their 0-1 away over Udinese at the Estadio Fruili.

 

GERMANY

In the Bundesliga, Christopher Antwi-Adjei saw 70 minutes of action for Bochum in their goalless draw game against Stuttgart

Hans Nunoo Sarpei was on the bench for Greuther Furth as they lost 3-1 to Bayern Munich

Bundesliga II, Erich Berko made a brief appearance for Darmstadt in their 2-1 defeaet

Daniel Kofi Kyereh scored for St.Pauli in their 1-3 away win over Karlsruher SC.

Kelvin Ofori was on the bench for Paderborn in their 2-1 defeat to Holstein Kiel

 

BELGIUM

In Jupiler League, Kamal Sowah played 58 minutes for Club Brugge in their 1-1 draw against Leuven

Francis Amuzu saw 79 minutes for  Anderlecht as the team drew 2-2 away to Oostende, his compatriot Majeed Ashimeru was introduced into the game at the same time he was substituted.

Isaac Nuhu featured for Eupen who recorded a 0-3 away win against Beerschot.

Joseph Paintsil saw 80 minutes of action for KRC Genk 3-0 win over RFC Seraing at home.

Elisha Owusu was introduced in the 60th minute for Gent in their 2-1 win over Cercle Brugge KSV.

 

TURKEY

In the Super Lig, Joseph Attamah scored for Kayserispor in their 1-1 draw against Giresunspor, his compatriot Bernard Mensah provided the assist in the crucial away draw.

Benjamin Tetteh played the entire duration of the game for Yeni Malatyaspor who suffered a painful 1-0 loss to Antalyaspor, both Haqi Osman and Philip Awuku were on the bench for Malatayaspor.

Isaac Cofie was an unused substitute in Sivasspor against Karagumruk.

In the Super Lig 2, Mahatma Otoo warmed the bench when his side Balikesirspor lost narrowly to Istanbulspo.

In the Bulgarian topflight, Emmanuel Toku played the full throttle for Botev Plovdiv in their 1-1 draw against Lokomotiv Plovdiv.

In Superliga, Ghanaian quartet, Lasso Coulibaly, Emmanuel Ogura, Francis Abu, Ibrahim Sadiq and Maxwell Woledzi were in action for Nordsjaelland as they were thrashed by FC Copenhagen 5-1.

In the First Division, Frank Assinki made a brief appearance for Koge in their 3-0 win over Fredericia

Abdul Halik Hudu was on the bench for Lyngby in their 3-1 win over Hvidovre

 

ISRAEL

Cletus Nombil saw 90 minutes of action for Hapoel Jerusalem against Sakhin which ended goalless

Eugene Ansah saw 77 minutes of action for H.Beer Sheva in their 2-0 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv

Richmond Boakye Yiadom and Edwin Gyasi featured in Beitar Jerusalem 2-0 defeat to Ashdod.

 

NETHERLANDS

In Eredivise, Kudus Mohammed was introduced into the game on the 76th minute for Ajax in their 3-0 win over Groningen.

Anthony Annan featured for FC Inter Turku in their important 0-1 away win over HJK Helsinki

Ishmael Yartey saw 75 minutes of action for Haka in their 1-0 win over AC Oulu
