We won’t conform – Duncan-Williams on CSE

Presiding Archbishop and General Overseer of the Action Chapel International Nicholas Duncan-Williams has urged Christian parents to be responsible for the sexual education of their children.

He said that kind of education must not be left in the hands of the “world” to teach.

The apparent introduction of sexual education in the new curricula has stirred controversy with a section of the public, particularly faith-based organisations, calling for the immediate expunction of the subject from the syllabus.

Already, the document on the guidelines of the Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) is making rounds.

Though this has been debunked by the Education Minister, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, and the Ghana Education Service (GES), more evidence has been adduced as regards the subtle introduction of the subject.

Speaking on Accra-based Joy FM on Friday, the eminent clergyman admitted that he is yet to peruse the content of the CSE but advised Christians not to conform to any “worldly” teaching.

He explained that there are two “kingdoms” and the Christiandom must not kowtow to teachings from the other kingdom.

“We will not conform,” he stressed.

On the current cost of living in Ghana, Archbishop Duncan-Williams said that can only be determined by individual citizens based on their conditions.

He claims his congregation members can tell their stories better.

“[But] we are in trying times,” he admitted, nonetheless, adding that it has happened before and that it shall pass.
