We had to defend our house; that’s what we did- Vinicius Jr defends El Clasico Scuffles

Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr. has defended his actions and the actions of some of his teammates regarding their involvement in multiple scuffles that happened after the El Clasico.

The first El Clasico of the 2025-2026 season had Real Madrid beat FC Barcelona 2-1 with Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe scoring in the win.

After making a big scene by angrily reacting to Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso for replacing him with Rodrygo Goes in the 72nd minute, Vinicius Jr confronted Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal over the Spanish international’s pre-game comments which led to a handful of scuffles but Vinicius Jr defended his actions saying,

“A message to all Madridistas, especially those who came to the Bernabeu and supported us.”

“We didn’t want to offend anyone, not Barça players, nor the fans. We know that when we step onto the pitch, we have to defend our side, and that’s how it was today” to Real Madrid TV.
