We Had Killed A Pregnant Woman Previously – Kasoa Ritual Murder Suspect
A juvenile murder suspect who has been committed to stand trial at the High Court for the alleged murder of a 10-year-old boy at Kasoa in the Central region, on Monday sent the Kaneshie District Court into a deafening silence when he confessed to the crime, and another murder previously unheard of since his arrest along with a suspected accomplice.
The 15-year-old boy (name withheld) told the Court presided over by Ms Rosemond Agyiri Duodoo that the murder of the 10-year-old boy, whose name was given as Ishmael, was not their first.
“We have killed a pregnant woman before, aside from Ishmael”, he told the court.
His alleged accomplice, Nicholas Kwame Kani however denied being party to any murder, but the two were committed to stand trial after they had been charged with conspiracy and murder of Ishmael Mensah Abdallah.
The two are said to have murdered Abdallah on April 3, this year for ritual purposes, after they had lured him into an uncompleted building and killed him with a club and a cement block.
The juvenile, who was in tears throughout the committal proceedings also told the court that the ghost of the deceased had been haunting him to tell the truth.
The prosecution, led by a Senior State Attorney, Nana Adoma Osei during the committal proceedings, submitted exhibits from the crime scene including a shovel, a spade, and pieces of cement block allegedly used to commit the crime.
The presiding judge upon hearing the last words of the accused person said “Based on the testimony you have given before this court, I deem it necessary to commit you to stand trial at the High Court.”
They are to be arraigned at the High Court on September 20, this year.
How was Ishmael killed?
The suspect and and accomplice Nicholas Kini lured their victim into an uncompleted building and killed him.
Felix is a mason labourer and the first accused, while Nicholas is a student and second accused.
A fetish priestess had demanded body parts from the two in addition to GHC 5000 to perform money rituals to make them wealthy.
The deceased was playing a video game when his playmates, who are known residents in the area, called him into an uncompleted building.
Per the reports, the accused persons hit Ishmael with an object which resulted in instant death.
According to sources, the incident happened at the Kasoa suburb of Lamptey Mills on Saturday, April 3, 2021, between 5 pm and 6 pm.
Ishmael lived with the mother and sister at Kasoa, whilst the father lived elsewhere.
According to Ishmael’s mother, the father had travelled and had not been able to visit them for some time.
As a practice, the mother of the deceased said the boy often attends Islamic lessons on Saturdays but failed to do so on that fateful day because he was waiting for his father, who had promised to visit.
The mother said Ishmael’s sister rushed in to inform her that he had been killed.
The residents apprehended the teenagers and reported the case to the Kasoa police.
The remains of the 10-year-old boy, brutally murdered by two teenagers at Kosoa, has since been laid to rest.
