“We don’t need thugs to win 2020 elections” – Pius Hadzide
A Deputy Information Minister, Pius Enam Hadzide says the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) does not need hooligans to win the 2020 general elections.
According to him, the NPP due to its numerous developmental projects will win the elections hands down.
“We don’t need thugs to win the 2020 general elections, we have worked very hard within these three years therefore, we will win the elections hands down. Mind you even in power the National Democratic Congress (NDC) lost to us by 1.2 million votes, they have nothing to campaign on now, we will win,” he said
Reacting to the NDC’s claim that the NPP was training thugs to cause mayhem in the 2020 general elections, Mr. Hadzide said the NPP does not need thugs to win the 2020 election.
According to him, the passage of the vigilante bill is enough to prove that the NPP has shown serious commitment in fighting against electoral crime and other related activity.
“Government is not training thugs, the NPP has shown enough commitment against hooliganism by passing the vigilante bill,” he noted.
He urged Former President Mahama to be mindful of his utterance since he has a huge following and he is also referred to as a stateman.
“The former president must be mindful of what he says, he should not say things without evidence, lets elevate our politics,” he disclosed.
