The newly appointed Chief Justice nominee, Gertrude Araba Esaaba Torkornoo, is currently before the Appointments Committee of Parliament for her vetting process.
Nominated by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in April 2023, Justice Torkornoo’s appointment aims to ensure a seamless transition following the retirement of the current Chief Justice, Kwasi Anin-Yeboah, on May 24.
