WAFU B U17 Girls Cup: Abedi Pele charges Black Maidens to dominate tournament

Former Black Stars captain Abedi Ayew ‘Pele’ has charged the Black Maidens, Ghana’s female U17 side to dominate the upcoming WAFU B U17 Girls Cup.

The three-time African Footballer of the Year, visited the team during their training session at the GFA Technical Center in Prampram, where he praised their dedication and urged them to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to their football journey.

“I am impressed with how well you are executing your coaches’ instructions on the pitch. Stay focused and be disciplined,” Abedi Pele advised.

The Ghanaian icon added, “I eagerly look forward to seeing the Black Maidens dominate in the upcoming tournament, and I hope you win it.”

The Black Maidens have been in impressive form in their preparations, securing back-to-back wins in friendly matches against Rootz Sistaz FC, with 5-1 and 2-0 scorelines.

Their next test will be against FC Epiphany Warriors on Friday, December 6, at Prampram.

Abedi Pele’s visit is expected to boost the team’s morale as they aim to make a mark in the upcoming competition.

The Black Maidens are looking to bounce back from a two-year ban from CAF following alleged age-cheating in 2022.
