Ghana U-20 striker Aziz Musibau was named Man of the Match after his brace led the Black Satellites to a commanding 2-0 victory against Niger in the WAFU B U20 Championship in Togo.
Musibau’s two second-half goals inspired Ghana to their first win in Group A, positioning them strongly in the competition.
Following a 2-2 draw against Benin in their opening match, Desmond Ofei’s side came into Sunday’s fixture determined to claim all three points, and Musibau delivered with a standout performance.
His efforts earned him the Most Valuable Player award, solidifying his role as a key player in Ghana’s squad.
Ghana now tops Group A with four points and will face hosts Togo on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, in their final group match, aiming to qualify for the semi-finals of the 2024 WAFU B U20 Championship.
Togo, having recorded their second draw of the tournament in a 0-0 stalemate with Benin, are also in contention, setting up an exciting showdown.
The WAFU B U20 Championship serves as a qualifying tournament for the 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations, making Ghana’s next match crucial in their quest to secure a spot in the continental competition.
