W/R: Pastor dies after water tank falls on vehicle in Amantin

A tragic accident in Amantin, located in the Mpohor Fiase Municipality of the Western Region, has left the local community in mourning after a pastor was killed when a water tank collapsed onto his vehicle.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, August 26, 2025.

The deceased, Pastor James Tawiah of the Deeper Life Church, was en route to minister to a congregation in Manso when the accident happened.

According to Emmanuel Ndur, the Assembly Member for Manso, Pastor Tawiah’s car stalled while climbing a hill.

As he tried to restart the vehicle, it rolled backwards and crashed into a structure supporting a large water storage tank.

The 350-litre tank came crashing down, killing Pastor Tawiah instantly.

The force of the impact severely damaged the vehicle, leaving emergency responders and bystanders stunned at the scene.

Residents of Amantin have expressed deep sorrow over the loss of the well-known pastor, describing him as a dedicated servant and beloved member of the community.

Meanwhile, his body has been transferred to the Tarkwa mortuary as police continue their investigations into the incident.
