Viral TikTok video sparks investigation at Ambulance Training School

The National Ambulance Service (NAS) has launched an investigation into a viral TikTok video that appears to show a trainer behaving inappropriately toward a recruit at the National Ambulance Training School in Nkenkaasu.

The video, which has been widely shared on social media, reportedly shows trainer Philip Kwame Twumasi in an improper interaction with recruit Karim Latif.

The footage has triggered strong public backlash and prompted an immediate response from the Service.

In a statement issued on Saturday, November 22, 2025, the NAS described the video as “disturbing” and reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy on bullying, harassment, and any form of discriminatory conduct within its training institutions.

“We strongly condemn any form of bullying, harassment, or discriminatory behaviour, and we are deeply disturbed by the actions depicted in the video,” the statement read.

NAS confirmed that a full-scale investigation has commenced and promised swift disciplinary action against Twumasi should the allegations be confirmed.

“The safety and well-being of our recruits is our top priority,” said Deputy Director of Public Relations, Mr. Simmons Yussif Kewura, who signed the release.

“NAS is committed to maintaining a culture of respect, inclusivity, and professionalism, and we will not tolerate any behaviour that undermines this.”

The Service assured the public that it is treating the matter with the seriousness it deserves and indicated that further updates will be provided as the investigation continues.
