A violent clash at Ngama Gberuk in the Bunkpurugu district of the North East Region has left several people injured and properties destroyed.
The incident stemmed from an inter-clan conflict between the Nandouk Teeb and Maan Teeb clans over chieftaincy titles.
The conflict escalated following enskinment ceremonies in Binde, the seat of the Pibrana, the Paramount Chief of the area.
After the successful ceremonies, both clans were ambushed by unknown gunmen while returning to Ngama Gberuk.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that gunmen opened fire on commuters, injuring several people.
Some sustained gunshot wounds, while others were hurt as they fled the scene in panic.
