(VIDEO) NDC Parliamentary Aspirant Sprays Cash At Ejura Sekyedumase
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential and parliamentary primaries on Saturday was a money-sharing galore as some aspirants were seen splashing money to influence the votes of delegates.
At Ejura Sekyedumase in the Ashanti Region, a parliamentary aspirant Juliana Kinang Wassan was captured in a viral video standing in a car and showering cash on the people at the Ahmadiya School Park, where voting was ongoing.
Juliana Kinang Wassan is contesting against the incumbent MP, Muhammad Bawah Braimah and hopes to win to contest the 2024 polls on the ticket of the NDC.
That was not the only case of money-sharing as several other delegates were sighted receiving envelopes at several centres at Ejura Sekyedumase.
This is not the first time aspirants have given cash during primaries, but most candidates argue that the monies are supposed to be used to cover transportation costs by delegates.
Ahead of the primaries, General Secretary of the NDC, Fifi Kwetey, indicated that money would not be a deciding factor in the party’s presidential and parliamentary primaries.
“If they are for you; they are for you. If they are not for you, you can’t force them,” he said.
