Dzifa Abla Gomashie, the minister-designate for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, was in the hot seat to answer questions from parliament’s screening committee ahead of her role in the Mahama government.
The committee examined her suitability as substantive sector minister at a vetting session today, January 22.
The veteran actress is not new to the sector after decades in the film industry. She had a stint at the same ministry as a deputy from 2013-2017.
Abla Dzifa Gomashie is also a queen mother in charge of protocol in the Aflao Traditional area of Ghana, a veteran producer, poet, and entrepreneur.
Ms. Gomashie holds a Master of Philosophy (2005–2008) in African Studies, from the Institute of African Studies, University of Ghana, a Bachelor of Fine Arts (2000-2003) with First Class Honors from the School of Performing Arts, University of Ghana, and a Diploma in Theatre Arts (1994-1998) from the same University.
