Veep breaks silence after sudden illness

Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has addressed the public for the first time following her urgent medical care at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang became unwell after her duties on Friday, March 28, and was promptly admitted to UGMC on Saturday, March 29, for treatment.

An official statement from the Presidency confirmed that she received timely medical attention at UGMC.

While the details regarding her illness were not specified, the statement assured the public of her stability and indicated she may need additional medical care abroad as a precaution.

The news of her hospitalization led to a wave of concern and support from across the country, with many Ghanaians expressing their prayers and well-wishes on social media. Political figures, religious leaders, and citizens joined in extending their hopes for her swift recovery.
