US man throws wife in river during fight over dinner
A Utah man was arrested Monday for allegedly tossing his wife into a river at a waterside resort in a fit of rage over dinner arrangements, a report said.
Douglas Harold Green, 61, is accused of carrying out the attack Sunday at the Provo River Resort, according to a police affidavit obtained by Deseret News.
Green said he threw his wife in the river ‘after she refused to do what he asked. The victim claimed she and Douglas were arguing over dinner arrangements. Douglas reportedly became angry and threatened to drown her in the river,’ the affidavit states.
Green then dragged his wife to the water and “forced her in.”
The husband reportedly threatened witnesses who attempted to aid his wife, the report said.
Police said the victim had bruises on both arms. Green was charged with aggravated kidnapping in the course of committing unlawful detention and assault.
