Update: 13k left to save partially blind girl with brain tumor

Your news portal, theghanareport.com brought you a story of a 15-year-old, Genevieve Owusu, who suffers from a brain tumor and partial blindness.

The 15-year-old is in dire need of GHC25,000 to undergo surgery.

She has a shunt infused in her head down through her stomach to her private part for draining out the cancerous substance which she passes out as urine in a diaper.

Her surgery date had to be rescheduled from June 26th to whenever she is able to raise the money.

A benevolent reader based in the United Kingdom, has contributed GHC12,000 to the Korle-Bu Teaching hospital for her surgery.

Other contributions from readers, totalling 250 cedis, has been given to the mother for the distressed family’s upkeep.

Her mother, Abigail Say, drained emotionally and psychologically, says she sometimes feels death may be a relief.

The 37-year-old single mother of four says she has had to babysit Genevieve for almost a year.

“Even now she is better, everyone who came to visit her when we returned from the hospital told me she would die, she was just there,” she said.
