The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that it will declare the final presidential election results by 4:30 pm today, December 9, 2024.

This announcement comes after the commission received 13 out of 16 regional results.

“We wish to inform the general public and the citizens as a whole that the commission has as of now received 13 out of the 16 regional results, and for that matter, the returning officer for the presidential elections and the commission will be declaring the results for the presidential elections at 4:30 pm,” Deputy EC Commissioner of Operations, Samuel Tettey disclosed.

Consequently, he urged Ghanaians to watch the declaration of the election results from their homes, as only accredited individuals will be allowed into the National Collation Centre before the declaration.

“We are only entertaining people who have accreditation to the National Collation Centre. If you don’t have accreditation to the national collation centre, please don’t come to the national collation centre,” the EC representative emphasised.

Additionally, the EC has cautioned against supporters of political parties gathering at the National Collation Centre, stating that this is “illegal and unwarranted.”

In a separate statement, Mr.  Fred Tetteh appealed for patience from Ghanaians, saying, “We ask Ghanaians to be patient with us. We want to do it and have it exact and accurate.”
