The people of Sege in the Greater Accra Region have been thrown into a state of shock after a man allegedly beheaded a three-year-old child.
According to reports, the suspect, Obed Kabutey, is a 21-year-old brother of the victim’s mother.
He reportedly went for the little boy on the evening of Wednesday, September 6, 2023, to buy noodles for him.
After they failed to return on time, the little boy’s parents became worried and went out searching for him and his uncle.
Other family members later joined in the search until they found Kabutey hiding on the outskirts of the town.
Upon questioning him on the whereabouts of his nephew, he told them that his father had come for the child, and he did not know their whereabouts.
He allegedly confessed to beheading the boy after the father denied his claims.
Kabutey then led the family to his kitchen, where they discovered the victim’s decapitated body.
They reported the case to the Ada West District Police, who responded immediately.
Police have started investigations to determine the motivation behind the act, while the family demands justice.
Meanwhile, the body has been deposited at the Catholic Hospital Mortuary.
