U/ER: Missing man found dead

A man who was reported missing on Thursday, December 25, 2025, has been discovered deceased under troubling circumstances in a bush at Bapilla, a locality within the Talensi District of the Upper East Region.

The occurrence has caused shockwaves throughout Dagliga in the Nabdam District and its neighbouring areas.

The victim, identified as Mosobil Levyang, 41, a tricycle operator commonly referred to as Capito, hails from the Dagliga community in the Nabdam District.

He allegedly departed from his family residence at Dagliga Lebyang House in mid-December 2025 to journey to Zomeela in search of employment.

On December 25, 2025, his colleagues alerted the family regarding his absence from their workplace, and after three days without any communication, the family reported him missing and sought public assistance in locating him.

A comprehensive search across adjacent towns and villages yielded no results until Wednesday, [December 31, 2025], when his body was found in a bush at Bapilla in the Talensi District.

The body was reportedly discovered unclothed, exhibiting visible bruises, a swollen jaw, and a pierced abdomen, prompting the family to suspect foul play.

“The injuries on his body show that something terrible happened to him. We strongly believe he was attacked, and we are demanding justice for our brother,” a family member told reporters.

The incident has instilled fear and anger among the residents of Dagliga and surrounding communities, with many urging for a thorough investigation into the case to ensure accountability and prevent similar occurrences.

Some community members have also called upon security agencies to enhance patrols, particularly in the Talensi East region, where there has been a rise in robbery incidents over the years.
