Two killed, three severely injured in shooting incident at Denase

A devastating shooting in Denase, located in the Afigya Kwabre North District of the Ashanti Region, has resulted in the death of two people, while three are currently battling for their lives.

The injured persons were quickly rushed to the Offinso Saint Patrick Hospital, where they are currently under medical treatment.

According to residents and eyewitnesses, the chaos occurred on Thursday night as multiple gunshots were fired, igniting panic throughout the area.

While the full details of the shooting are still being investigated, some locals have suggested the possibility of a contract killing, intensifying the anxious atmosphere in the community.

Kwabena Asamoah, the Unit Committee Chairman for Denase Electoral Area, in an interview, noted that the assault appeared to target specific individuals rather than being a typical armed robbery.

He revealed that a staggering 14 bullets were fired during the incident, underscoring its severity.

This incident comes less than a week after the unfortunate killing of the Kusasi Chief of the Ashanti Region in the same vicinity, prompting further concerns among residents.

Eyewitnesses believe that the assailants, two men on a motorbike, opened fire before fleeing the scene.

Meanwhile, the police have assured a thorough investigation to arrest the suspects to face justice.
