Two individuals lost their lives on Tuesday morning due to a road traffic accident at Abakam along the Cape Coast–Takoradi N1 highway.
The early morning collision involved a Toyota Corolla with the registration number GS 2455-25 and a Sprinter bus bearing the registration number WR 316-24.
Firefighters from the Elmina Fire Station responded promptly after a distress call was received at 5:11 am.
Upon their arrival, they secured the accident scene, removed debris from the roadway, and assisted in restoring the flow of traffic to avert secondary accidents.
A total of 14 individuals were impacted by the incident. Four were transported to the University of Cape Coast (UCC) Hospital, where two later succumbed to their injuries.
The remaining 10 victims are presently receiving medical care at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.
Both vehicles incurred substantial damage as a result of the collision.
