A gory bus accident occurred on the Accra-Berekum road, leaving a trail of destruction and claiming two lives.
The accident occurred on the Berekum-Sunyani trunk road involving an O.A. bus with registration number GT 5768-18 and a motorcycle with the registration number M-22-BA-2109.
The incident happened on Saturday morning, August 31, 2024.
The O.A. bus was travelling from Accra to Berekum when it attempted to overtake a Toyota RAV 4 vehicle near Amanfoso.
In a split second, the bus collided with the car and then slammed into a motorcycle, claiming the lives of the two people on the motorcycle.
The Sunyani Manager of O.A. buses, Bugri Elijah, confirmed that passengers with minor injuries were treated and discharged.
However, five others remain hospitalized, receiving medical attention for their injuries.
In a gesture of goodwill, the company has pledged to cover all medical expenses for the casualties.
Elijah urged road users to exercise extreme caution when travelling through accident-prone areas.
