A horrific accident in Offinso Old Town, located in the Ashanti Region, has resulted in the deaths of two people, while two others have sustained injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital.
The deceased, one male and one female, lost their lives when their vehicle ignited after colliding with a trailer (GR-1357-W) and a mini truck loaded with construction materials.
According to eyewitnesses, the tragic event took place during the early hours of Tuesday, January 12, 2026.
The female victim, who was a trader in building materials, was en route from Kumasi to Offinso when the accident occurred.
Both she and the driver suffered severe burns and perished at the scene.
The remains have been transported to the hospital for further examination, and law enforcement has taken control of the site to investigate the incident.
The two people who were injured, the driver of the trailer and his assistant, are currently receiving medical care.
