Two arrested in walewale over murder of momo vendor
Police have arrested two persons in connection with a robbery attack and murder of a mobile money vendor and one other person at Walewale in the North East Region.
The suspects are reported to be farmers: 37-year-old Zakaria Yamusa, popularly known as Vandam and 33-year-old Fatao Issah.
According to police reports, the suspects shot and killed two people, including a mobile money vendor, and further caused injuries to seven other people during the attack on Monday, February 12, 2024.
According to the police statement, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has personally spoken to all the injured persons except for one who is yet to be reached, as well as the family of the deceased via telephone and has assured them of justice.
Also, the North-East regional police commander led a team of officers to visit the injured persons at the hospital and commiserated with the families of the deceased.
The police administration has assured all involved in the case of justice while investigations continue.
