Two American football players charged with armed robbery

Florida police are on a manhunt for two National Football League (NFL) players for allegedly robbing guest at a house party.

The duo, Deandre Baker of the New York Giants; and Quinton Dunbar of the Seattle Seahawks were reported to have robbed guests at gunpoint.

BBC reported that about $12,000 (£9,850) in cash and watches worth up to $25,000 were taken.

A police spokeswoman said the pair are currently on the run.

But added that the authorities were in touch with the NFL and a lawyer for one of the players.

According to the police arrest warrant, the incident occurred after an argument broke out at the house party, where guests were playing cards and video games.

Baker allegedly pulled out a gun before his colleague, Dunbar, and another man in mask started taking valuables and cash from people.

The police said the man in the red mask is yet to be identified.

All three then took off in separate vehicles – a Mercedes Benz, a Lamborghini and a BMW.

The police statement said that “one witness was under the impression, this was planned out”, as the three getaway vehicles “were later pre-positioned to expedite an immediate departure from the area.”

The 22-year-old Deandre Baker is facing eight charges in total, four for armed robbery and four for aggravated assault with a firearm.

And 27-year-old Quinton Dunbar has been charged with four counts of armed robbery.

Meanwhile, the NFL said it is aware of the incident but has declined to give further details of the way forward for the two players.
