Tsatsu Tsikata chooses son M.anifest over Sarkodie as favourite rapper

Ghanaian legal luminary Tsatsu Tsikata has revealed his preference when it comes to choosing between his son, the acclaimed rapper M.anifest, and Ghana’s rap icon Sarkodie.

In an interview with GHOne TV, Tsikata acknowledged both musicians’ talent, but ultimately favoured his son.

“You know what? You are trying to trap me, but I’ll give you my answer,” Tsikata quipped when asked to pick between M.anifest and Sarkodie.

Referring to the two rappers’ 2020 collaboration Brown Paper Bag, he remarked, “I enjoy both of them. But of course, more of the time I’m enjoying my son than anybody else.”

Tsikata’s remarks come against the backdrop of a longstanding rivalry between the two rap heavyweights.

In 2016, Sarkodie and M.anifest famously squared off in a lyrical battle, sparking one of Ghana’s most iconic rap feuds. It began with Sarkodie’s song Bossy, in which he crowned himself Ghana’s top rapper.

M.anifest countered with god MC, challenging Sarkodie’s claim and showcasing his own lyrical prowess. Sarkodie fired back with Kanta, taking aim at M.anifest’s rap style and fashion sense.

The two have since put aside their differences, sharing the stage as Ghana’s rap titans and collaborating on Brown Paper Bag, a track with politically charged themes.

The song highlights their shared skill and artistry, proving that while their rivalry was intense, it ultimately pushed them to new creative heights.

Both Sarkodie and M.anifest have won the Ghana Music Award for Best Rapper several times.
