Sensational weightlifter Christian Amoah has continued his exploits from the African Games with triple gold medals in the 89kg at the African Youth Weightlifting Championship in Kampala, Uganda, on Tuesday.
The young Ghanaian, ahead of his trip to Uganda, vowed to annex three gold medals and he achieved that in Kampala yesterday.
Amoah won three bronze medals at the just-ended African Games in Rabat, Morocco in the 89kg weightlifting category.
Speaking to the Graphic Sports Online about the feat of Amoah, Ben Nunoo Mensah, the President of the Ghana Weightlifting
Federation(GWF), says the young weightlifter is Ghana’s next shining star in the sport.
“Amoah is a great athlete, he has the tenacity of steel and will break boundaries in his blossoming career,” he noted.
He appealed to the government and corporate societies to support weightlifting, adding that it serves as a source of employment for the youth.
