President John Dramani Mahama has named Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, as the official representative to lead Ghana’s delegation to the 2025 Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC) in the United States.
The high-level event, scheduled for June 2 to 5 in Indianapolis, Indiana, will bring together entrepreneurs, policymakers, investors, and innovation leaders from over 200 countries.
The 2025 theme, “The Bold Transforms the World,” speaks to the power of entrepreneurship in addressing global challenges and creating shared prosperity.
Minister Ofosu-Adjare is expected to participate in the GEC Ministerial Summit and attend several key engagements, including investment forums, bilateral meetings, and policy discussions.
Ghana’s presence will spotlight the country’s efforts to support innovation, job creation, and economic diplomacy.
“This appointment reflects Ghana’s unwavering commitment to promoting entrepreneurship and private sector-led development as core pillars of its economic transformation strategy,” said Stephen Gyasi-Kwaw, Country Founder of GEN-Ghana.
The Ghanaian delegation will include representatives from government, the private sector, diaspora communities, and entrepreneurial support organisations.
Together, they aim to showcase Ghana’s potential in agribusiness and industrial innovation, while building partnerships to strengthen the country’s growing startup ecosystem.
The Global Entrepreneurship Congress has become the leading platform for global collaboration in the startup space. Since its inception in 2009, the event has been hosted in cities like Milan, Dubai, Johannesburg, and Istanbul.
With Indianapolis now selected as the second U.S. city to host the GEC, the gathering reinforces the critical role of entrepreneurship in shaping the future.
Ghana’s participation aligns with its broader international agenda to scale micro, small, and medium enterprises, deepen institutional growth, and attract global investments.
