Torgbiga Adamah III, Like Pontius Pilate, Washes Hands Off Agyinasare’s 14-Day Ultimatum
The Paramount Chief and President of Some Traditional Council, Agbozume, Torgbiga Adamah III, like Pontius Pilate washing his hands off Jesus Christ’s crucifixion has disassociated himself from the summon by Some chiefs in the region for Archbishop Charles Agyinasare to appear before the traditional authority in fourteen days.
The founder and leader of Perez Chapel International, Archbishop Charles Agyinasare in one of his sermons recently alleged that Nogokpo is the “demonic” headquarters of the Volta Region.
The statement caused resentment among people in the Volta Region especially some traditional leaders at Nogokpo.
The man of God apologized to the chiefs and people of Nogokpo insisting that he did not intend “to denigrate any of the towns and their people but to elucidate the principle of divine protection to congregants”.
“Any misrepresentation or misinformation that has characterized the subsequent commentary and reportage is regretted,” he said on Sunday, May 28″.
“My Ministry over the past 40 years has been one that has spoken up at critical times in our Nation as a spiritual gatekeeper and I remain committed to serving God’s people and our Nation as the spirit directs.”
The Chiefs and people of Nogokpo in the Ketu South Municipality on Friday, June 2, 2023, issued a 14-day ultimatum to Archbishop Charles Agyinasare to appear before them to resolve a dispute arising from some statements despite his apology.
The Paramount Chief and President of Some Traditional Council, Agbozume, Torgbiga Adamah III in an interview monitored by The Ghana Report on TV3 said although other chiefs have ordered the man of God to appear before the traditional authorities in the region, he knows nothing about the matter.
“What happened at Nogokpo, I am not associated with it. My chief consulted me on Monday and he asked, what should we do the first thing I ask is, has somebody brought the case?”, he quizzed.
“Nogokpo is the name of the town but the shrine is not Nogokpo. The shrine is Gbakadza so if you are a chief of Nogokpo and I am a Paramount chief I can only receive a complaint from my subjects who are over there superintending on issues of the shrine. So the first question I asked him was, has our people come and complained to you officially that what has happened has affected the shrine or the god? He said nobody”.
“I said then wait and let us do the Council meeting then we will discuss it there and take a decision from there. So that was my instruction, then from nowhere, I only heard of threat at a press conference which I don’t know anything about”, he noted.
Meanwhile, the Perez Chapel International as ordered by the Presiding Bishop of the church Rt. Rev. Ohene Benjamin Aboagye on Monday, June 6, 2023, commenced with a one-week fasting and prayers for their leader Archbishop Charles Agyinasare and all members of the church for God’s mighty power to be revealed in the case between their leader and the traditional authorities at Nogokpo.
The fasting and prayers are expected to come to a close on Sunday, June 11, 2023.
