Tiger Force Group donates PPE, others to 37 Hospital
The Tiger Force Group has supported the 37 Military Hospital in the fight against the novel coronavirus, COVID-19.
In a show of its corporate social responsibility (CSR), the debt management company donated personal protective equipment (PPEs) and mobile phones worth GH₵30,000 to help in the coronavirus fight, which has so far claimed 34 lives.
The items included 1,000 pieces of KN95 nose masks; 2,500 pieces of surgical masks; and five mobile phones.
The mobile phones are meant to help the hospital in its contact tracing efforts.
Presenting the items to the hospital, the Chief Executive of the Tiger Force Group, Percy Dickson Boamah, stressed on the need to support health institutions and professionals during the pandemic.
“If you look at what COVID-19 is doing now, it’s not going to end now. Those in charge of affairs are telling us that it has come to stay. So if they’re overwhelmed now, then it means it’s going to be a long journey. So we decided to come and help and call on other companies also to come and help,” he said.
Reacting to the kind gesture, the Commander of the hospital, Brigadier General Nii Adjah Obadai, who received the items on behalf of the facility, said the items would go a long way to benefit the hospital.
He said the mobile phones would be significant in contact tracing since the 37 Military Hospital was forced to make a lot of calls during the period.
“For the contact tracing, the people who have gone out need to be called. So we just pick their numbers and call them to check on them.
“We ask them how they are doing, and all of those things… So, there are calls going on during the contacts that we’re tracing. So the phones will be very significant.”
