Three-year-old boy hospitalised after father whipped him with belt, cable for bed wetting
A three-year-old boy is battling for his life at the Manhyia Government Hospital in the Ashanti Region after his biological father whipped him with a belt and power cables for bedwetting.
According to a report by JoyNews, this is not the first time the little Junior (not his real name) has been subjected to such severe beatings by his father, Ebenezer Osei Bonsu.
With a huge plaster on his forehead, Junior’s back has been left with deep cuts, making it difficult for him to lie on his back.
His hands and thighs were not spared either. He had bandages almost all over his body as a result of his father’s assault.
“My daddy beat me with a wire. He said I’ve been naughty. He also said I wet his bed,” he narrated his ordeal in a trembling voice.
According to his 26-year old mother, she dated Junior ‘s father for seven years but broke up with him due to his constant physical abuse.
“He hit me with anything he found whenever he was angry. I couldn’t tell anyone at home, so I kept it to myself. Sometimes, he bites me.”
She said the man only took the little boy one Saturday to his place on a weekend visitation only to start assaulting him. She explained that all attempts to allow her to pick up the child proved futile until the police intervened to rescue him.
Meanwhile, Junior’s 30-year-old father, Ebenezer, is in police custody and will be arraigned on Thursday, May 14, 2020.
Some Ghanaians took to social media to express their anger over the assault on the three-year-old boy.
If the father didn’t think about his own child why will the court worried about the getting coronavirus
If he is only 3 why would u do that to a 3 year old his father should have life or better yet why don’t he get beat like that he needs to feel the pain like that little boy did that is just messed up
