A coordinated security operation in the Kasoa and Tuba area has led to the arrest of 32 Nigerian nationals as Ghana steps up efforts to tackle cybercrime.

The early morning raid was carried out by the Cyber Security Authority, working closely with National Security operatives as part of a wider campaign to protect the country’s digital space.

During the operation, officers seized 31 laptops and 15 mobile phones believed to have been used in cyber-related criminal activities.

The suspects are currently in custody and are cooperating with investigators, while the electronic devices have been forwarded for forensic analysis to help build cases and uncover possible links to wider cybercrime networks.

The Cyber Security Authority said the arrests reflect a sustained push to disrupt organised cybercrime and prevent further harm to individuals, businesses and public institutions.

Officials noted that cybercrime continues to pose serious risks, ranging from financial loss to identity theft, making decisive action necessary.

In a brief statement, the Authority reassured the public of its resolve to work with other security agencies to address cyber-enabled offences across the country.

“This operation forms part of our ongoing commitment to safeguarding Ghana’s digital ecosystem and ensuring that those who engage in cybercrime are brought to justice,” the Authority said.

Beyond enforcement, the CSA is also calling on the public to play an active role. Members of the public have been urged to stay alert and report suspicious online activities through approved reporting channels.

According to the Authority, timely information from citizens often makes the difference in identifying threats early and preventing further damage.
