Third suspect in immigration officer’s murder case reportedly dies

A third suspect linked to the murder of 38-year-old Immigration Officer Stephen King Amoah has reportedly died after a brief illness, adding a new twist to the high-profile investigation.

The development was confirmed by the deceased’s brother, Kwasi Amoako, who said he received the information from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officer in charge of the case.

“Yesterday we went to court, and I can confirm that the third suspect has passed away,” Amoako told reporters.

“I was informed by the CID officer handling the investigation. We thank God that our brother is beginning to get justice.”

The reported death of the suspect introduces fresh uncertainty into a case that has gripped public attention since Amoah’s brutal killing.

His family has repeatedly called for a swift and thorough investigation to ensure justice is served.

So far, the police have not released an official statement confirming the suspect’s death.

Stephen King Amoah was first reported missing on July 3, 2025, after he left home to meet a friend at Ashongman Estate.

Six days later, on July 9, his charred body was discovered at Abuom Junction near Kwabenya, triggering an intensive police probe and a nationwide manhunt.
